Ok, here's the deal. I'm going to be writing more of the technical food porn.

Mostly it's because I'm drafting the book.

Which means I'm going to be removing it from the purely public forum.

Straight/pervy/kinky foodie-porn will still be wide open.

So, for those who want to read/provide feedback, I'll be making a filter.

I'm looking at clarity. House style will cover some things.

I'm a so-so typist (learned OJT as a reporter... typing was useful, but a pencil covered a mulltitude of sins).

Does the text (and or illos) make the thing being discussed clear?

Did you try it, and find it useful, or was it touch and go as to whether you were going to lose body parts?

Those are the things I want to know.

I have the same question. I always restrain myself from editing unless I am asked to edit, but since I make my living as an editor (mostly copyediting, but some substantive), I would want to know what you want.

Btw, you mentioned in an earlier post that artichokes are abominations. Does this include the hearts?

They are very pretty flowers.

On the other hand, this is going to be generic-ish, how to, not specific recipes.

As an aside, I know how to make several artichoke dishes (I'm not going to be making amuse bouche out of them, because I don't have the visceral appreciation of how they work, but I can make soups, etc.

And I know several ways of preparing them as whole heads.

Having done the kitchen thing while doing the school thing as a kid
both before the military thing and after, I liked it so much,
even the mess cooking, that I had to flip a coin to help make
the decision of which school to go to after the Navy. I ended
up in tech school, doing as a livelihood what I always thought
would be a life long hobby. Now cooking is more the hobby &
diddling electrons has been the income thing.
