In my previous post, I made an aside about someone being ignorant and bigoted on the internet.

In one of those brave moments that keep one's faith in humanity. Flying Sardines, the person I alluded to has come to a new understanding (I didn't make a direct link, because s/he was already getting enough heat from the people who inhabit Fred's blog. I didn't think it fair to make it trivial for more people to join in the affray).

More, and what is more noble than I think I am (one hopes, but until tested, one never knows), s/he has made an apology. Not a qualified one, "I didn't mean to offend people," etc.. No, "I was wrong. I had blind spots which were making me a bigot."

Whew. I mean I would have been thrilled beyond expectation at a simple admission that factually Flying Sardines realised s/he was wrong, but this was so much more than that. It was the sort of self-awareness one normally rolls one's eyes at in fiction.

So kudos and all praise to Flying Sardines.

One fewer person being wrong on the internet.

And there should be much rejoicing.
