I can't listen to NPR right now. Hours and hours of pious talk about Cuban poverty (and how everything was happiness and prosperity for everyone along with total freedom for all back in the good old days of Batista) with *not one word* about US economic penalization of Cuba in order to "prove" that no communist country could ever succeed, and how that might have *anything* to do with it. Are they all amnesiacs, or just PWN3D? Does it even matter? It's not like they don't have over 30 years of archives available to them, plus regular outside sources, and can't find people to interview - heck, they interviewed a Cuban dissident in Havana yesterday even who told the US to keep out and dear God no don't try to bring our special brand of Democratization there, let them work out their destiny themselves.
