DeLay indicted

This saddens me, a bit.

I wanted the indictments to come a little closer to the mid-terms, but my inner child is jumping up and down with glee.

Today was the last day of the Grand Jury and I think that the statute of limitations was going to run soon. It had to be now.

Oh, I know, but I did so want it to be national news in a bigger way, for a longer time.

We knew this was coming when they passed the "DeLay Rule", and I, for one, am sad they pulled it, because it would be all over the place.

But we take what we can get.

Who knows how long the trial will take? I'm betting things will still be in play during the congressional primaries next spring and summer, which should be enough to weaken him in that, and if he's not re-elected, a lot of his strength is diminished. The Bugman is the sort of guy a lot of people will want to stick a knife in once they think he's down. Although, for my money, it'll take a wooden stake, a lot of garlic, and burial at a crossroads facedown during the dark of the moon to really settle his hash.

I do agree that watching this boil nnd simmer in the news all the way until 11/06 would be good and pleasant.
