Back in 7th Grade, my homeroom teacher gave us the assignment of What would we do if President? My answer was, resign and get my successor to appoint me Sec'y of State. She didn't like that too much. I asked where in the Constitution it said I couldn't. She liked that less.

Damned autocrat. :)

These days, I'd probably hold out for Justice of SCOTUS, but that's trickier, what with waiting for a vacancy, and Advise and Consent so highly charged, etc.

Still, State would be cool. Lotsa travel and parties. :)

State would please me more than the Oval Office too. More chance to affect things, directly.

On the other hand, I just did two-weeks of travel and parties, and it's exhausting.
