In the midst of a llocalised kerfluffle at Slacktivist (who is moving, and that is the cause of some fairly reasonable distress, and some not so pleasant probable side effects, but I digress) one of the Slacktivites reported that his brother in law had been beaten.
Because his name is Usama.
My first, non-rational, reaction was something about pitchforks and torches.

The police say they are investigating it as a hate crime, and there has been some progress, but the mind reels... they hear his name, and start to beat him.
