A day of adventures

pecuniumI got confused (not lost) on my way to the radio station today. I don't think I was confused for the interview.

After the interview I walked about on Naval Pier, shot some photos, and chatted with a friedly fellow about monarchs, then I headed for the Museum of Science and Industry. I got confused on my way to that too, and ended up at the Field, where I saw lots of splendid things, and was disappointed in the Whydah Exhibition (which costs extra). I might have been a little less disappointed if the Whydah exhibit had told me anything I didn't know about pirates, or the Whydah. They said they would do that for the former, and implied it with the latter.
But the display items were decent; which was marred some by the presentation being more Pirates of the Carribean than anything else. No photography was allowed. For those who want to handle th only proven pirate treasure known, there are some pieces of eight one can touch (I did, all of them... how could one resist?).
On my way out there was a young man talking to the security guard; the accent sounded Russian, and he was having a problem. He was Russian, and Oh! yes, he was having a problem. It seems they had parked foolishly, and been towed. Not only did this mean they were going to be out $170 for the tow, but all their money was in the car. The lot wasn't walking distance.
I gave them a lift. When Elder asked how they could repay me I asked if they were going to be in SF (They are making a cross-country road trip, they were in Cleveland yesterday, to which they drove from Niagra Falls. The trip started in Virginia). He said they were, so I gave him my card, and told him to call me when they get to San Francisco, and we can have a drink.
Then I put the top down on the convertible, and made my way back to Oak Park.
