The cross post I just made uses pictures of a fungus near my house. I really like shooting them. Sadly the camera can't quite catch them as they are, but here's an approximation.
Scale is the bastard part of it, Because it's so hard to manage. This blooming of the fungus us pretty big, and I've shot it twice (I need to work on the one from last week).
The "rain" shots, are so-so. The eye us so much better at this. I need to drag out the 4x5, and the notepad (for the math) and take some shots which really show what the yellow glow, and the cathedral-like interiors are really like.
Absent something like the exudate, there is nothing for scale. A praying mantis might be 2", might be 9'. The viewer has no way to know. Which reminds me, there are Papilla cresophontescaterpillars in my rue, and I need to go look at them again.

I love the coiled tendrils, too. And the blue-footed boobie. And...
...I *do* your photography.
