How well do you know Kiev? Because I can't recall (from the photos in that file... I need to go back and look at those, but they are on a different drive) which church it is. I think the one with the ikons is St. Michael's, but I can't swear to it; absent some more detail in the photo (mostly to see the base/surrounding buildings). I can see it, in situ in my mind, but can't tell from detail.

Patience, the right angle and a polarising filter. I manage to get the effect (painterly) with buildings, but not so much with other landscapes.
