I have a pro account at Flickr. I do this mainly because it means all the photos I've uploaded are visible. It also gets me detailed stats on my account. Every photos has a count on it, so anyone can see how many times it's been viewed.
The stats function, however lets me see which photos got looked at from the point at which I got the Pro Account. I can also look at them in ranked order (most comments, most views, etc.).
I get told where the referrers come from too, though a lot of them are, "unknown" and most of the rest are from people who saw photos in groups I posted them in.
The big exception has been a photo I took in Iraq. That one has gotten 16,534 views in the couple of years since I put it up. That's because it, and another photo, with about 1,200 views show up when someone does an image search for Camel Spider (if you don't like scary looking bugs, don't follow that link) and one of my pictures shows up, and is different from the rest. It's not a camel spider.
The background radiation for my stream looks something like this:

I've highlighted Feb 21, so it's easier to see the general scale of hits.
As you can see the background radiation for my stream (the count on days I've not posted any new images, or otherwise done something to make some of them visible) is in the 40-50 range.
So today I opened up the stats and saw this:

I thought, somehow, the statcounter had reset, and I was seeing just yesterday and today, then I moused over the spike and saw that it wasn't in the middling hundreds (which is what I was expecting, because I've been posting images), but that I had 2,756 hits yesterday.
Which was amazing. I opened up the details for the day and was more amazed, one photo accounted for 2,541 of the hits.
This one:
What Dreams?

Why?
Because someone on Reddit linked to it. So far today it's had 944, 100 of them since I started writing this post. The interesting thing is, I hadn't put it in any groups, nor done anything else to encourage anyone to look at it.
The funny thing is, I can't find it on Reddit.
