Amusements
Aug. 5th, 2005 11:20 amThe new MS operating system (Vesta) got it's first virus today.
It was mere hours (a bit less than two days) after its release.
On a more personal note someone is trying to infect my computer with something.
It's an e-mail bug, promising to be an e-mail greeting card. I, being a suspicious type (and not allowing HTML in my e-mail) had an URL to go to.
It led to a site for sale. My browser was kind enough to tell me the URL was a gif, and had a .exe extention.
That't not the amusing part (well it is, but I am strange). The amusing part is that, like the spammers who try to get me to give them info about accounts I don't have, with banks I don't frequent, these guys were/are persistent. I have three of these in my trash can right now. If I'd opened the mail and seen them all at once, they'd have gone straight to the bit bucket.
