Typical army crap. We got word (e-mail and an attached itinerary) that the new Bn Commander, and the outgoing, are going to be here today. So we called down to see if the convoy had left on time. The folks at the other end of the line told us they had not. They also wondered where we'd heard he was to be coming up today, because they were not leaving until tomorrow. Which seems to mean I have to wait until tomorrow, and perhaps until Tues., to get to the hospital. This does not please me.
It also means the missions we have planned for Monday are scrubbed. But the teams get a day off, which is to the good. All ate not completely screwed.

Change 26A-12 to the plan.
Without telling us they decided to flip the schedule for the Colonels' visit. Which means instead of driving here and going on to other points, where they will spend the night. They are going on to other points and spend the night. They will come to see us tomorrow. Scrub another day's missions.
I was up around 0330. The Milky Way was stunning. A tattered veil across the sky, with the end striking the earth at some small city, or occupied part of the base, so the pale shadow of light (with no moon to hide it) ended in a bright spill of lights, as though it were splashing up from the ground.
The next time I arose the pale-light of dawn was filling the sky. A sliver of the aging moon was pointing to the sun, and the pale blue sky was rimmed with clouds, some of which were high enough to be have bright white tops, wrinkled and brilliant.
Today, if all goes as hoped, I head off to the CSH to have myself looked at. I can't wait. Not only will all the aches and pains be demolished (A consummation devoutly to be wished) but we are arranging for an airlift so I get to add another type of helicopter to the list of birds I've ridden.
At least I shan't be strapped to a litter, a la M*A*S*H, when I go to the hospital. Small blessings.
