I decided to make a poll.

Picture posts can be a pain. So I decided to take advantage of my paying for being a member of LJ (which is part of why I have pictures to post... they gave me a gig of hosting) and made a poll to get some idea of how people think about the things which I care about when I post one of these sorts of posts.

I make no promises to be more than influenced by the results. I am not going to make a filter for the pictures I post, because that sort of defeats the purpose. If you have anything detailed to say, comments are, as always, open.

I love looking at your pictures. Post all you want. I take pictures too, although my skill and equipment does not match yours, and I like seeing what other photographers do.

I put mine in a flickr account and link to that in my LJ, which so far has worked well.

Flickr is great because you can post FROM flickr, and have those nifty thumbnails and captions and text wrapping, and the thumbnails are clickable so you can go to a larger version AND the gallery it came from. So you can put the best photo of your trip to, say, Arizona and clicking on it leads you to the whole arizona series!

Much luffs to Flickr.

I like a thumbnail link, or else a cut (or series of cuts).

The "Central Coast Hills" shot in your previous post is just the right size, IMHO.

I don't care so much about width/height, especially if they're behind a cut, as I do about overall file size.

I like the pictures. I'm using an archaic hand-me-down mac with an unreliable dial-up connection. Some mornings I just can't seem to get there. When I can you generally make it worth my while. I like cuts so at least I know what freaked out my computer and I agree that "Central Coast Hills" was a very good size. Oh, and your dogs are cute.
