News about someone else (frabjous day!)

pecuniumMaia got in.
As of June 19th she will be a grad student in the OT program at USC. This means a lot of things, it means we will be moving in the beginning og June (when she is graduating Poly). She will be going crazy with the change in focus, the new demands, the commute, the change and all the demands of the program.
It means we owe thanks to those who helped, both moral and active support (akirlu this means you, in particular... beer's on us the next time we get together).
It probably means the planned trip to Seattle in July will get scratched. I could go, but it won't be the same without her, and I'll be in Kiev in the latter half of the month. My list of first sentences pointed out how much time I spend away, I don't see any reason to make more, esp. at a time when she might need me to be home. We'll try to make the trip across her winter break.
I am so proud of her. She sweated bullets putting her app together, and apart from some advice (and not much of that) and some research; with which I had help) she did almost all of it by herself.
Whatever I was getting her for Christmas just got trumped by USC.

Date: 2005-12-16 06:27 pm (UTC)There is a summer session (which looks hellish) from 19 June to 11 Aug, 8:30 4:30 (and seemingly five days a week).
The fall semester starts on 21 Aug. She has to get CPR certified, adult, child and infant before the summer session starts.
She has to call and see if she wants to/can start in August without the summer session.
On the up side (and your mites did help) she beat out other people, as there is a waiting list.
