Have managed transport home from VA.

Pain is better managed today. Same sort of pain as yesterday, but pulsing, not constant. Took full dose of meds. Pain drops from stabbing 7+, to squeezing 4.

As it's less than it was, I shall stop the catastrophic thinking that it might be fracture blisters preparing to burst, and then infect, and give me gangrene.

The pleasant thoughts which come of knowing not quite enough about how such things go, and too much to be, "enh..."

Do you have fracture blisters?

If you do, you don't automatically get gangrene if they burst; they can get infected more easily than other blisters (and I don't know much about them to be honest) but for any burst blister to get gangrene, it has to be infected first. Infections can be treated, so unless you either ignore the infection or the infection doesn't respond to antibiotics (the really key thing in people who don't ignore symptoms and know how to keep their wounds clean) it shouldn't happen.

Apologies if this sounds stupidly simplistic; I don't know how much not quite enough you do or don't know. Unfortunately since I haven't worked in any ortho practises I don't know too much myself except, OW.
