pecuniumI'll be heading home. The vagaries of time, tide and traffic are such that the northern leg of the trip isn't really feasible this time out. When (if) I do such a thing again, I'll include it.
At one level, doing this solo, with long stops, was the way to go. At another, it would have been better with company. That would, of course, have changed the scheduling. I'd have had much less flexibility, and my end of day decisions would have been either joint, or the fiat of need.
So the new route (not yet final) is to takecommodorified to her family reunion, and hie myself into the US at Sault Ste. Marie. From there I think I swing through Minneapolis, and down for Salt Lake City. I don't know for certain. There is an appeal to the slightly northern route, through South Dakota, but the roads back to SF start to backtrack, and it's still a long ride.
We have a couple of days to finish planning it.
