Was most excellent. Had a great time, wish I wasn't heading home so soon. :(

Brides were lovely. Groom was gorgeous, much dressing up, dancing, singing, mirthing.

Would not have missed it for the world.

Three. And one groom. It was lovely. They are a beautiful family.

Now that my first "ooh! Pictures!" thought was over, I must admit that when I first read Pecunium's entry I caught the word "brides" and assumed it was a gay wedding. My brain completely skipped over "groom." It wasn't until I got to the comments that I realized there was a man involved.

I am old-fashioned that way. :P

I love it that you consider two women getting married to be old fashioned.

Compared to polyamory, gays are downright mainstream. Legal marriage for groups is a long way off.

Besides, I live in the bay area. I have several married gay and lesbian friends.

For reasons which are about to become clear, I have just f-locked this post.

Poly marriages in Canada are a felony (or whatever the equivalent term is). Not just to be in, but to participate in. Attendance is considered participation.

British Columbia is challenging this, as a violation of the Charter of Rights.

So the situation may soon change.

(or whatever the equivalent term is)

It is an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada or else a Federal Offence.

We don't have felonies.

I know! I loved it that whenever C. and I were running around doing wedding prep the SOFT OPTION of not having to explain all the time (I'm out as poly, sure, fine, but sometimes you're just trying to buy some damned shoes or tablecloths or bras, you know?) was that people assumed (correctly) that we were marrying one another and then left it at that.

And nobody flickered. I mean, with one or two exceptions nobody was at all unpleasant when we DID explain, but when it was apparently Just Two Women? It was... just like being nice normal engaged people. Congratulations and She's Lovely You're So Lucky and We Sell The Cake Toppers As Individual Pieces These Days You Can Mix And Match (actually we did Playmobil) and all that.

So yeah, I had the exact same reaction.
