Seriously croggled.

I guess it's the logical extreme of people ignoring the person in the chair to talk to the person pushing the chair, but it's still stunning.

That sort of thing used to happen to my disabled boyfriend all the time. Strangely, it most often happened in hospitals.

I can half see that. A person in a wheelchair (in a hopsital), might be patients, and not able to take responsibility for things (the possibility of being whisked away to places where belongings can't follow).

But yoiks.

Dear ghu! I *wish* this were unbelievable. In the spirit of the stairs (direction translation of the french espirit d'escalier, aka I wish I'd thought to say this) "Why do you think I'm not somebody?" or even "In what way am I not attending the baggage?"

I hope I remember these if I ever need them.

And of course, the trolls come from the voodvork out.

Every time I read one of those "well-we-don't-have-both-sides-do-we" apologies for abuse of power, I think back to the knights' address to the audience in Murder in the Cathedral: "You are Englishmen, and therefore you believe in fair play; and when you see one man being set upon by four, your sympathies are all with the underdog... the merits of this extremely complex problem ... very subtle reasoning ... exasperated us beyond human endurance ... verdict of Suicide while of Unsound Mind."

The sad thing is, this isn't even terribly unusual. I get flack from people when I'm sitting there with my service dog and luggage.
