As I have said, I'm leaving town for a few weeks, off to Korea, where I get to simulate a mature member of the NCO Corps.

No small part of that simulation will be refraining from telling the 2ID that I think their expectations, in event of N. Korea taking a road trip south are so far out in La-La land that L. Frank Baum would have them looking over a double-rainbow, just to SEE home.

So, for those of you who have come to read my stuff with any regularity, I now refer you to people I like to read.

Draw what conclusions you will.

Chez Miscarriage

Wonderful writing, on a difficult subject. Worth every bit of discomfort that her sharing her struggles causes.

Slacktivist

Some of the best writing I know on matters religious, Not my brand of faith, but I have yet to disagree on anything fundamental with him. His other commentary is swell too, and worth the read, if for nothing other than his critique of the Left Behind novels, for which work he deserves great lauds.

Orcinus

Dave Neiwert is some of the most cogent, and penetrating writing on the rise of fascist elements/domestic terrorists out there. He likes Orcas too.

The Nielsen Haydens

They are probably why I really got blogging, though [livejournal.com profile] libertango was the catalyst to my building a blog, they were the inspiration to my doing more than the occasional post.

Respectful of Otters

I've pointed to Rivka before, so you may have looked at her stuff already. To quote her, "I'm a psychologist working in HIV research and treatment in the inner city. Don't talk to me about "compassionate conservatism."

Tough lady; sweet, kind, caustic and funny to boot.

Better Angels of our nature

A fellow troop, 'nuff said.

Geoff Arnold

I met Geoff (out in the web, we've never been in the same area) because we share an interest in Al Stewart, which led us to the same list-serve group. He works for Sun, has interesting comments on that, a wide range of other interests, and is nice enough to flog my thoughts, usually with praises, not just a pointer. Seems only fair I ought to return the favor.

It ain't all I read, not by a long pitch, but it ought to tide you over.
