On the Wing

This shot is, to use a term of art, Crap.
It's the second shot after the egret with its wings unfurled, straining to gain the air. Here the bird is comfortably aloft, and headed toward me.
The pose is perfect, the exposure spot on; against a difficult background, but that background kills it.
The white walls are too much like the bird, the contrast of black/brown/white too busy. The shadow of the wall, where it juts out over the bridge too close to the wings and the subtle shadings of light and shadow underneath them is lost.
But the bird is so pretty.

Date: 2008-08-18 07:23 pm (UTC)It's a nice enough shot, and the bird, qua bird, is fine.
But, as someone teases me, "It's Craaaaap!"
