My given name (only used by cops, and people who don't know me, save from documents; which is to say, mostly people who think my first name is Sergeant), isn't all that common.

"X" is the #4xx most common male first name

0.022% of males in the US are named X.

Around 26950 US males are named "X"!

First, they assume (correctly) I am male. Ok.

As for the other, with so many people sharing my name, the only one I've met was my grandfather.

The only other one I know about, was a pop-philospher in the 1920s.

The only other women I have met with my given name are all Muslims. I always get a double take.

I'm not even sure why I bothered. I _know_ mine is popular. #6 and 0.932%.

It asks on the drop down if you are male or female. The default is male.

My name is 0009 and I think that may be wrong. (Annmarie)

Nobody else in the known universe has any of my given names as a first name.

For some flavor of "known", perhaps? This site (IIRC) becomes increasingly undependable as the searched name becomes more rare, and sets of maybe up to several hundred might be ignored entirely.

Not that site. A different set of name tables (or perhaps just better sorted sets of census data) takes your entire name and checks for probabilities of match.

I got, "0 people in the US are named"

3600 matches. That is a lot more than I would have expected, given that I'd never met a native English speaker who could pronounce my name.

Leseee... .0001 percent of the population, I'm not surprised that you've never met one, nor that native speakers of English might not know how to say it.
