I can see how that might seem odd. Parsing that came up with a number of reasons for it to be so.

Want to visit, but money is tight, and time is constrained. Maybe when Maia gets done, and before we move (so Sept-ish). One can hope.

It's almost been long enough that I could stand another Loscon, but no, we won't be down. I'm determined to get the living room painted this weekend, and this year Orycon was only a week before Thanksgiving, so that would be rather too much travel in the space of a week. Maybe next year. I can come down and mock Scalzi in person.

Your name was, however, taken in vain when we recently tried out the Ukrainian cafe near our new place. It was quite good, actually, and there's the Ukrainian grocery store-within-a-store nearby, too. Our two most obvious local emigre constituencies seem to be Ukranian and Punjabi.

No, my natal is in the middle of the year.

I don't know what support you need, but I do know what it's like to be waiting (if you go back to Feb. 2003 and proceed to April 2004 you'll get my accounts of my piece of the war, and my waiting for the rest of my unit to get back while I was in hospital).
