Here is the first line of the first entry from every month of last year.

Before, I begin, however, I shall, in some wise make this first post of the new year, much as my first post of the last year was (though I shan't quote it next year), and wish all of you a Happy New Year, better than the last, and worse than any to follow.

I've been travelling [personal profile] commodorified came to visit and we went up to SLO, and spent a couple of days with [personal profile] trolleypup (who came down from SF).

All the greats had it. Ansel Adams had it. Margaret Bourke-White had it. Henri Cartier-Bresson had it.

From my August trip to SLO, with [personal profile] commodorified. The shots were all taken in Cayucas, out on a large chunk of rock out in the fringes of the tidal zone, so we were on an island, which happens to be submerged for about half the day.

I have long ago given up on the grammar checker in Word being able to keep track of subject/verb relationships when an intermediate phrase intrudes, but today I got one I just had to share. I was roughing out some text, and wrote the following (clunky) sentence.
