It's been awhile since I did any pointing.

So this will be a bit of Generic Blogrolling, and a few speciic posts.

Feministe offers her thoughts on education here, which inspired Scott Lemieux, of Lawyers, Guns and Money to give his explanaion of, why I am a feminist

Orcinus is being his usually penetrating self on political trending, and in specific on the flaws in the various defenses of the NSA wiretapping. Always worth reading, though often depressing.

Steve Gilliard, and Jen keep, The News Blog which has a mix of syncretic repostings, fresh commentary and a lively comments section. I can be found in them occaisionly. Sort of like a loud bar, or barbershop. Be prepared for strongly worded opinions. For a different take on New York City, this is a place to go.

Which leads to a local personality, [profile] jmhm who has a pleasant snark, and has been hitting the long ball of late (with me seeing her name on lots of other blogs. The small world nature of things sometimes makes me fear we are making too much of an echo chamber. But then I think some of us talk to people outside of greater blogistan, and the more varied, and in depth the facts one has to hand, the better chance one stands of making successful points). Her recent stuff on the MTA strike is great.

Digby is, well, Digby. I don't read him as often as I perhaps should. Trenchant, detailed and completely readable. A sort of non-profane, Rude Pundit who is also readable, but only if you don't mind your politics mixed with scatologic, and sexual, metaphors; some of them in the realm of the squicky.

We are now off to see an exhibition of the horse stuff for the ToR parade, so other links will have to wait for some other time.
