On my side of the pond, but not yet on the right coast.
I took a bump at Dulles, and am in the Hyatt Dulles, a glass of California sunshine at my left hand (one of the sublime pleasures of being from Calif. is that the wines can be had around the the world. It was strange, and wonderful, to see Sonoma wines selling for more than French. It was better to have General Combs (who was, some time ago, as an LTC, my Bn CO) bring a bottle of wine from Paso Robles. I was able to tell friends, "This is from my town... which has more emotional connotations in Russian, sort of like Bruce Springsteen's Your Home Town", but concentrated).

geekchick and then a nap in the room United bought me, some brekkie on the airline and a rested flight home to Maia, my kitchen, my dogs, and my bed.
