Have arrived in Korea, weather is cold, will write when I get work.

Seriously, the trip was fine (barring some problems which caused me to be a day later than I was supposed to be, and on a different airline, and non-stop, instead of direct via Narita).

I'll be some distance south of here, so I have to take a train tomorrow. More excitement.

It's funny how things become familiar. This is my third trip to Korea. The first was in November, 1999. The second in August 2004. They were both in/around Uijongbu. I recalled the streets, and how to get around. Tonight I saw a landmark, and I knew, basically, where I was.

It's familiar. I suspect Kiev will be familiar when I go back (certainly the area around my hotel will be, Stark, Joe and I prowled those streets so that we could, if needs be, have staggered home stupid drunk).

It's not home, but it seems comfortable, which is also odd, because Korea is the one place I've been where I speak none of the language, and can't even decipher the signage (apart from many things being posted with Latin lettering, so one has a vague idea of what's going on, but no way to be certain).

I hope the weather turns a trifle warmer (my seatmate told me that a cold snap had swept in, and then made me aprehensive about how much I'd brought to deal with it. The papers have been saying 30-50F, when he said it was -8, it took me a moment to realise he was talking eight degrees celsius. That's not so bad), but I'm not going to be living in a tent (not down in Region IV) so things ought to be all right.

I won't be reading everything, even when I have access, because I'll probably not have that much time, and even with most of the people on my f-list not posting, there's still an awfull lot in a day.

I can get something in Kiev. That's not so certain. Maybe I'll get you something here.

Is loving me forever anything like loving me long time?

Hope there will be photos. That's my favorite souvenir (not that you're on vacation).

There are already a couple, from the bullet train out of Seoul. I can't imagine travelling without a camera, so I don't even try. Last trip I shot 12 rolls of slides, and some print. This trip I can shoot up to 14Gb, at an average of 3mb per image.
