pecuniumThis weekend is the Annual Retreat of the Southern California Quarterly Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers, to those of you who don't know).
What this means is a lot of people are going camping and hiking (with some bouldering, for them as wants to; nothing requiring more than tennis shoes, and some gloves) in Joshua Tree. If any of you are in the area (or want to be)it will be at Indian Cove Campground. Don't let the name bother you, such religious aspects as there are to it are ery low-key, consisting of those who want to have Meeting for Worship hauling a bunch of chairs into the bush and sitting for awhile.
Things you will want, clothes adequate to the temperature (it usually drops to the upper 30sF), a change of clothes, if you plan to go hiking, comestibles. Tent, and sleeping gear (if you give me enough lead time I can probably arrange for a tent, but I can't promise more than one, first come, first served, and no guarantees, I can also round up a couple of sleeping bags).
Firewood we will have in plenty. Cooking gear, and stoves as well.
It's a swell time, I've been going for the past seven of them, and can commend it.
