Last but not least, you want morals, I gotcher' morals, Right hereThat’s the future of the Democratic Party: providing Republicans with a number of cute (but not that bright) comfort women. p.s. he turned off comments last year, when a lot of people (myself included) were taking him to task for threatening another blogger's life. It was indirect, vague comments that the man ought to be killed, and then publishing his address. He is a vile piece of work, and now he gets paid to write for the Washington Times.

Don't mourn, organise.

The sad thing is, this isn't really his worst.

The amusing thing? He's a Canadian. I don't know if he's a resident student at Harvard now, but last year he got called on... shall we say shading the truth, because he was an extention studen in Ontario (?). As I said he dislikes negative response.

The last time I read him (Gods, but the things I do to try and reach people... I was compelled to go to LGF and Freepdom today... I am weary) he made a comment about not wanting to censor anyone, though he was being crucified, and the next day killed comments because they were (after six months of flawless work) buggering up the site.

But I still see people telling me (even after I present quotations, with links) that the Dems are responsible for all the hate in the political equation.

Yargh. Some people just see and hear what they want, regardless of the facts before them. I know that's not exclusively true of the right-wingers, but somehow it seems to me that the results are a lot worse when they do it and they're the ones who happen to be in charge.

You are braver than I to venture into such hostile territory. But then again, you're military, so I guess you're used to it. :)

Nah, I was intrepid before this. This is still harder to do than drive toward a firefight, or stick my head-up in a combat zone. This has to be deliberate. One steps out, knowing one is going to take fire.

My recent flap, leading to drama here, Almost Home is a case in point.

I knew, when I opened my mouth in Ginmar's LJ, that he was going to jump on me. I didn't know he was going to come here, because she had banned him. Which might have changed my comments a bit, but not much.

Evil thrives, where good men do nothing.

*reads* Oh, ferchrissakes. What a dork.

Good on you, though. Sometimes I do wander into the fray myself (not there or in Freeper territory, but in places where people argue a lot), but I have to steel myself to do it. Arguing a lot with people determined to be nasty takes a lot out of me, especially when I'm already tired and down.

By the way, where in CA do you live?

A trifle south of SLO, with strong ties to Pasadena.

I may be in Monterey for six months next year.

And I get to SF when I can.

Cool...I ask because my employer is sponsoring or co-sponsoring some events in Santa Monica and Long Beach shortly, and I thought there was a chance you might find them interesting. Check out http://uusc.org/info/events_nov.html and check out the descriptions of the Encuentro event on 11/13 and the Long Beach presentation at the UU Church of Long Beach on 11/14. Jennifer Harbury will be speaking at both events about UUSC's nascent Stop Torture Permanently program and her uncovering of CIA-sponsored torture in Guatemala.

I don't have a good idea of the distances involved for you, but I thought you might like to know. :)
