A couple of nature shots
Aug. 9th, 2009 07:07 pmI suppose, whether I like it, or not, I have become something of, "a nature photographer." Mostly this is because I am lazy. Getting models is work, and when one isn't really in a position to pay them, it's more like begging. Birds, flowers, landscapes, they don't care. They are also easy to find.
A couple of weeks ago I was in Shoreline Park, in Mountain View, and saw a pair of Red Tail hawks sharing lunch. The male left it for the female to finish in peace because they were being "mobbed" by sparrows and mockingbirds.
Two treatments:

Date: 2009-08-10 02:30 am (UTC)I was coming back from the Northland on a back road Friday and saw a peregrine falcon, it was going in to hit some prey, probably pigeons. Several years back they hacked a bunch of young falcons off the AT&T building (very tall building in KC with accessible ledges...) and they stayed.
I've also seen one 'blow up' a pigeon in mid-air when I still worked downtown.
