Starting sometime this weekend we (Maia, her mother, myself, and; I think, her sister) will be travelling, in a spasmodic way, up the Pacific Coast.

Known stops are Montana de Oro and Point Reyes. I am lobbying for us to make the trek stretch to Seattle.

The plan is to move about 250-300 miles at a pop; and then spend a day (or two, as at Point Reyes) riding the horses before moving on.

Those of you who live along that projected route, who might want to try and arrange some silly thing like a dinner in town, or a drink, cup of coffee, or the like, can leave contact information.

I can't make any promises.

Comments will be screened.

Point Reyes:
Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station has a fine mussels-with-fettucine, good beer, and popovers in the bread basket.

Seconding the recommendation, although it's been a while since I've been out that way. The Olema Inn also has some darn tasty food.

*sigh* You couldn't somehow lose your way and end up near Brussels, eh? No? Ah well, didn't think so.

(There'd be a double bed in a room in a near-by town, in a lovely house situated near many good restaurants, or, if you weren't minded of the work after all that getting-lost, we have a nice enough kitchen, and I'd love some tips on baking bread... on the other hand, you're travelling with four, so we'd have to get creative - or maybe me and [livejournal.com profile] dear_hubby would just vacate our bed and set up in the livingroom...)

Crazy(and dreaming - but since I'm making such a fool of myself, keep this screened, eh?)Soph

(Whether I can pop over coastward for a cup of coffee or something depends on how far east you come and what day it is.)

Well... Brussells would be lovely, and if/when Maia and I are in the area, we'll call (I might even be persuaded to cook), but we have not only three/four people, but horses to match.

It would be a bit of an imposition.

No idea. We might do the Berkeley Hills on the way back (nice riding, and we have family in Berkeley, which means thai food).

I hope you make it to Seattle

It would be nice to meet after all these years! I'll arrange dinner, if you like. I live in the "International District" which basically means East Asian cuisine, but Seattle is full of good places to eat. And if you're sick of eating out by the time you get here, I could cook....

*chortle* Yes, well, an imposition indeed, although once upon a time, a very nearby structure (hailing from the mid-14th century) was in fact the local horse stables. But currently re-configured as a series of restaurants all sharing a courtyard as a terrace.

I don't think they'd mind if we returned the space to its original use, do you? *mischeivous giggle*

Crazy(and wishing you a lovely trip!)Soph

PS give plenty of lead-time on any possible appearance near us, and I can make sure you have all the necessary cell-phone numbers, etc, etc.

Depends on who is with us. Seattle has a lot of people who will want to see me.

If I were to pick a restaurant, it would be Panos' Kleftika (near the Needle), not least because I'd like to see Panos again.

If Sola comes, we have one vegetarian, which might change that some, though if we spend more than one day in town (I'm hoping for three, or perhaps two, with one of them being just socialising), something can be worked out.
