I'm not dead

Still in Coronado. The BOQ (where I've been staying) has no connectivity. Today I managed to drag the laptop (which is being very strange, so I may have to do a complete reformat, instead of just re-installing the OS, which is what I did last week).

It's been a very busy, slow, week. As a translator, I wasn't needed. As an escort, and problem solver, I did yeoman's work.

I will be going to Kiev again next July.

I've been watching the sun rise over the Pacific (Coronado is a penninsula, with an ocean lagoon).

Tomorrow I will drive back to LA (in the morning, sorry ckd).

Sat. I will make the trip up to SLO.

It was odd getting a weeks worth of lost comments as well as the few leftover ones, and thinking they were all familiar (because I'd seen most of them by being attentive.

End of the year meme of first of the month posts

January: My family is, by most people's lights, complex. To me, well it's my family, and the oddities acreted, so I didn't have to try to swallow it in one draught.

February: The American Family Association is gung-ho against, the homosexual agenda. Looking at the recent flaps they've been involved in they are actually against tolerance.

March: I'm moody.

April: All did not go as planned.

May: I'm home again, and have managed (at long last) to catch up, as much as I am going to, with the volume of writing you people put out.

June: I am not dead, nor worse, deployed (not so much for my sake is being deployed worse than dead, but for the rest of my friends and family. If I'm dead they can grieve, when I'm deployed they worry. That nagging sense that all the evil things which might happen are happening, every moment of every day).

July: I'm home. Finally, for the next hundred-hours or so. On Monday, at 0630 I ought to be wheels up on my way to Ukraine for two weeks.

August: I had a miserable trip home, once I left the hotel in D.C.

September: Off to the wilds of the Berkeley hills, so the soonest anyone will hear from me is Monday.

October: I enjoy reading things on the web. If LJ were built differently I might keep a blogroll.

November: Doe v Groody has been getting a lot of play, because Alito (you know, the anti-Meirs candidate, the guy who's good for the court because he has a wealth of experience on the bench. Meirs, recall, was good because she would bring a new mindset, one that wasn't tainted by all that time spent resolving issues of law, but more important things, like public scatology [/snark]) penned a dissent which said a mother and daughter, in the house of a suspect, were subject to search.

December: Next week I'm off to San Diego.

So, it seems I do a lot of travelling.

It's a wonder Maia recalls what I look like some times.
