Every Easter there is a flurry of stuff about Peeps, the sugar-coated marshmallow chickens.

Too sweet by half if you ask me, but watching them puff up in the microwave, and then return to some semblance of normal is kinda fun (and the more so if one has children to entertain). Making them joust has it moments.

For those of you who wonder how they might handle more adult fare Peeps and Alcohol/Smoking has all the info (and more) you wanted.

Or not.

I like microwaving York peppermint patties. They puff up and then the chocolate peels back like the filling is bursting out of its skin. Fun! But if you try it, do it on a disposable plate, because you may never get the residue off your good plates.

Peeps are the ambrosia of our modern age. Love the Peep. Embrace the Peep. Don't feed the Peep to your dog, though, as it makes them bounce off the walls. Peeeeps!

Mmmm, Peeps. They're best when slightly stale. The chocolate-filled ones scare me though.

I have a friend who holds an annual Peep Torture festival.

If you light a Peep on fire and throw it at someone, it's called a marshmallowtov cocktail.

I was peep jousting at my parent's house a few years back. This amused the living daylights out of my very straight-laced dad, and finally convinced my brother I was completely batshit insane. He had his suspicions but these just put the nail in the coffin.

No Peeps in Canada, unless you're looking for them in the street slang form of the word "Peeps". We've got lots of those Peeps, and Canadian ones at that, so they're considerably less cooler than other international Peeps.

We do have kinky maple syrup fights though.

I love peeps - like someone said above, slightly stale ones are best. :)

Have you ever microwaved a bar of soap? Now that is a sight to behold.
