Progress Report
Jan. 23rd, 2011 06:55 pmI am starting to have minor itching. I am going in to Ortho tomorrow to see about a prosthetic (i.e. some form of wheeled assistance, ideally one of the one-legged wheelchairs/scooters), and ask about a disabled placard.
While I am there I will ask about benedryl.
I have new gloves to use with the crutches. They are high-speed gloves for bicycle riding, with gel-pads in ALL the right places. They make a huge difference.
Pain today was better, in a strange sort of way. When I woke up it was a gently throbbing 2-2+. I decided to get some food before popping a percoset.
Oooh BOY!. About the time I hit the kitchen I was spiking a solid seven. It felt that someone had put a spike on a vise, and then screwed it down, hard, onto my ankle. When I sat down it fell back to a four. Ice didn't help, drugs did.
In the "Life has a vicious sense of humor dept., my father bruised a couple of ribs, and they gave him vicodin. I'll call him tomorrow and see how well it worked.
