On the road again
Dec. 21st, 2007 05:49 pmMaia's uncle went to Mexico for Christmas this year. I am of a mixed mind on this. I like Glenn, and I like Sebastapol and I like driving north, to where the days are shorter still, and the solstice having passed is more apparent.
But I am weary of travel; to the point it might be travail.
So the long trip, and the (albeit pleasant) strains of being a guest we forego.
Instead we are... driving to SF this weekend to see friends, camp on the floor (six to the room) and play at Dickens. We will be leaving in a couple of hours. I don't know what our plans for tomorrow might be, and truth to tell we might meander our way home by way of SLO and other friends. I may be incommunicado until after Christmas.
If so, a happy one to you, and yours. Enjoy your holidays, rejoice in the renewing of the year.
Those who come to dickens, well it's madhouse, but the shop of clothes and flowers (I know not the name of it), last seen near Mad Sal's is where we'll hang our hat, and messages can be left with Jen. Since this is public I shan't leave my cell-number, but then again, I'm not sure where I put in; in my exhausted state the night I got back. But I'll be there, strolling the scene with a penny-whistle, and playing carols to the children.

Date: 2007-12-21 05:18 pm (UTC)It's indoors, in perpetual twilight; as of Christmas Eve, in London.
It's a lot of fun. People full of good cheer, sociability, and an amazing amount of ribaldry (also gained from Victorians).
