Steven Brust; author, raconteur, musician, Lj blogger, got sick a while back. Was in hospital.

It wasn't cheap. Being an author he doesn't have the sort of medical coverage which can insulate one from that. As I found out with my kidney stone (and jested, when Walter Reed gave me the unstinted care for my sulfa-reaction) even a short stay in a hospital can eat up a a lot of funds.

Steve is facing bankruptcy. That's bad enough, but there is some question as to the value of the rights to his books (a specialist lawyer; through no small urging of folks on Lj, has been procured).

Because his "friends" of the real and blogspace sort, have (to quote him), "twisted his arm," he has a tip jar.

I'd make some pitch, or a plea to your better natures, or an ode on the virtues of charity, but that's not the point. He could use some help. I think helping him is a good thing. If you agree, that's how you can help.

I agree. It's not a lot, but if everyone chips in a bit, it'll add up.

Thank you for the information and the link. I have enjoyed his books every time I picked them up. I wish he never needed the help, but thank you for giving me the chance to help.

Hell yes I can spare a dime. I've enjoyed his books way too much not to help him out now.
