A plea for help
Sep. 21st, 2005 11:17 amMy father is, right now, in Redmond Wash., where he is suffering through a contract ill-thought out. Where they were supposed to be drafting teaching plan, they are in fact drafting a syllabus.
This affects me because he may not be able to shuttle down to SLO this weekend (for him to be in Seattle is to remove the best part of a continent from between us, so we'll strike while the iron's hot).
Where it affects him is he knows not the area, nor has he any acquaintance, and is without a car.
He would like some diversions. Places he can get to from his hotel, near the Microsoft Campus. If anyone, in the area, want's to call him up and grab a bite, that would be swell (for those who know me, well there are some interesting parallels, and that; by quirk of fate, speaks more to nature than nuture, as I wasn't completely sapient when we lost contact , and had attained young adulthood when we regained it). If there are social functions at which he might be welcome (60ish, active, reserve deputy sherrif for Knox County Tenn, Marine, photographer, former photo-journalist in Atlanta, writer on computer stuff, reared in the Chicago suburbs, does Tai Chi, liberal; in many of the ways I am liberal; in some ways more liberal, he voted for Jackson in '92.) that too might be well recieved.
I throw myself on your collected knowledge, and mercy.
