Just in case you wondered what they are teaching at Bob Jones University.

The Cultured Savage has some examples.

More funny than infuriating, but still sort of depressing.

[personal profile] supergee pointed me to this (which is more infuriating than funny) Our dating system does not biblically prepare young men and women for marriage. and what Jesee at Pandagon has to say about it here (which is more devastating to it than I would likely be. Pithier and all).

Deuteronomy doesn't make for good social law anymore, just ask the Jews.

Lest you think all Christians are daft (or that I might think so) Real Live Preacher is his usually rational self on the topic of the Fractured Family of Men

Recall Microsoft, and the conveniently timed waffling (as well as the money paid to, who was it, Raplh Reed?) on the civil rights issue relating to homosexuals in Wash.?

Yesterday I was pleased to see Kraft Foods was publically supporting the 2006 Gay Games.

Today I was not so happy to hear they are being hammered by people calling to protest, probably threatening a boycott.

The person who told me about this was kind enough to provide the phone number to call them up and tell them I agree with their stand. If you want to call them (and I am presuming most of my readers think there isn't any real problem with the Gay Games. I am even assuming most of you are in favor of equal rights for all, and that such public shows of support are good things) the number is 1 (800) 323-0768.

The person who answered the phone when I called seemed to perk up when I said I was on their side in this issue (I have no idea what tone those who are against the idea are taking, but, from the sorts of confrontational tone I've seen/been on the receiving end of [and that for merely reporting, not actually supporting] I can imagine some of them are something less than pleasant to deal with). I even let them put me on a mailing list.

They will ask for a name, an address, and a phone number, so if you want to keep your privacy, you can have one ready. I suspect you can also just decline to share.

We have to feed a snake tonight.

She laid (we think, they aren't as easy to count as chickens' eggs) 24 viable eggs (and one lump. We're going to put it in the incubator, but the odds are it's a non-starter).

Looking at the calendar they are due to hatch on 01 July. For reasons unknown we've always found our eggs to hatch at about 45-50 days, rather than the predicted 56, so the odds are we'll be in the Paria (i.e. Utah) with the horses when they hatch.

Which seems to be the case for the past three years. Our first year was a shock, I thought the eggs (recall they were still a week from due date) had suddenly collapsed and died.

Nope, there were bunches of beautiful pencils squirming in the vermiculite.
