PSA

On the off chance that there are the occasional interrogators, unknown to me, strolling through here; or that some of you might know some, there is a fellow at Sacred Heart, in Conn., doing some work on it.

He's a professor of Criminal Justice. His website is Humint is pretty interesting, in it's own right.

Terry, I'm writing a novel that has to do with interrogation, and a lot of what I have been reading on your blog has gone into it. Would you be willing to have a look when it's finished and tell me off where you think I need telling off? One of your latest blog posts already picked at one of my characters.

PNH and TNH can both vouch for me regarding my credentials as a writer, btw.

How synchronicity works (I was approached by another writer to help with such a character, though to be fair the two of us have known each other for decades, so his thinking of me is almost to be expected).

I would be more than willing to go over it for you. I think (based on giving some advice on a strange bit of applied violence to [personal profile] matociquala the going rate is something on the order of a random spot of socialising and a healthy tot of whisky; none of which has any deadline.

Whiskey! We do that stuff here. :-) Although of course I have been known to elicit cries of distress from other Brits (I think the Scots would resort to outright violence) by telling them that I used my 16-yrs Lagavulin for some green peppercorn steaks... (It was late, I was hungry, and I didn't have any other whisky in the house. But gosh, were they good steaks.)

Thanks.

What... seems a perfectly reasonable thing to with with whisk(e)y. If you are going to cook, by God use the good stuff.

That's what I said. Especially since I don't drink, or enjoy, the stuff anyway (unless it's in hot milk and honey, which also leads to vocal outrage). But the strangled cries where very distressing to hear. Also, the Significant Other, whose Scottish roots are just two generations back, brought me some lowly stuff to cook with. And since I lost the job cooking with 16-yrs old single malt has become a lot less justifiable.
