Sure, he has done commendable things--he has a pretty good environmental record, for one thing, but why would he stump for a guy whose chief campaign strategist conducted a smear campaign against him in 2000? Karl Rove et al. conducted push polls right before the S. Carolina Repub Convention in order to spread rumors that McCain had fathered a child with a black woman. McCain was leading before Rove pulled that stunt. McCain served as Bush's campaign coordinator for Arizona... cuz he wants to be President himself one day, and he doesn't dare really piss off the Republican party.
